About Us

Before Yondu was born, it was first called the Entertainment Gateway Group – a humble tech-based company that started with only three employees and specialized in mobile content and digital applications.
It provided value-added services, including music, news and info, JAVA games, interactive TV games, chat, web-to-mobile services, and digital marketing services.
In 2004, EGG was able to grow exponentially to form a focused Technology Team. Then, the Technology Outsourcing Partners division followed in 2006.
The company was then acquired by Globe Telecom, and later on, evolved to become one of its strongest acquisitions. EGG’s portfolio and capabilities were starting to grow and expand to Custom Development and IT Staffing, apart from VAS.
In 2014, EGG rebranded to “Yondu,” which was initially meant for TOP (Technology Outsourcing Partners) led by our President Joan Penaflorida. Along the way, however, it seemed fitting to apply the rebranding to the whole company, transforming EGG into Yondu, Inc.
More than the expansion of EGG’s capabilities, we were also moving way ahead of the macroenvironmental factors in the IT industry, paving the way for Yondu’s brand new image.
We were ready to not only just deliver “cutting-edge digital solutions”, but do more, be more, and “go above and beyond [for] you”.
So we got to work with a team of professionals when it comes to these things. After several brainstorming of ideas and cups of coffee, Yondu’s brand idea was born. And we were ready for the makeover of the century.
Our History
The top IT solutions company in the Philippines that is Yondu, Inc., goes way back 2001 — back when it was first called as the Entertainment Gateway Group (EGG) and only had three employees under its name. Despite being a small group, they had big dreams and an even bigger passion that ferried them across what was then the beginning of the digital age both in the country and abroad.
In just three years, EGG grew bigger and its roster of experts increased. This paved the way for the formation of a focused Technology Team in 2004 and a Technology Outsourcing Partner in 2006. This excellent track record became the reason why the EGG Corp was acquired by the country’s largest telecommunications firm, Globe Telecom, Inc. The acquisition proved to be a vital key in Yondu’s success in the next four years, starting with 2010 when Yondu got a positive EBITDA (Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization) with a growth of 29%. We also became Globe’s Partner of the Year for 2011, and a Red Herring Award recipient in 2012 — Yondu’s first international recognition
Yondu only kept on growing and growing from there, both in numbers and expertise. This only spurred the company more to drive forward and explore more innovations in the name of digital transformation for its clientele. It also became one of the catalysts for one of the country’s top tech companies investing P900 million for a 50% stake of the company in 2015.
These developments were vital for the company — apart from capitalizing on the success reached in the past years and the exponential growth of the brand, it also occurred around the time that changes in the technological landscape, especially in terms of business processes, were starting to take root.
These efforts proved successful when, in the following years, Yondu gathered a number of awards, including being named as among the country’s top three tech startups along with big names such as Zalora and Lazada in 2016, being recognized in the 2017 Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards, and being included in the top 5 PH startups by revenue in 2018.
In 2020, Yondu passed the ISO 27001 Certification Audit, an internationally recognized best practice for an Information Security Management System (ISMS). This certification builds Yondu’s credibility and reputation as a Managed Service Provider in handling and managing Information Security.
Today, we’re one of the top IT players in the Philippines, promoting a digitally-savvy society and delivering solutions no matter how difficult the challenges we have to overcome. With more than 700 Yondudes all dedicated to helping the company’s multitude of clients across different sectors, we’re certainly stronger than ever before.
And we just keep on making history.

2001
Ran the company with only 3 employees
First known as the Entertainment Gateway Group, Yondu had its humble beginnings with only three hardworking individuals.
2008
Fully acquired by Globe
The country’s largest telecommunication company, Globe Telecom, saw EGG’s tremendous growth, acquiring it to become one of its strongest subsidiaries.
2009
Launched IT Staffing
EGG’s portfolio and capabilities started to grow. In 2009, it launched IT Staffing to help organizations grappling with the lack of IT experts to support their tech needs.
2011
Awarded as Globe Partner of the Year
EGG was recognized as Globe’s Partner of the Year in 2011 due to its exceptional and meaningful contribution.
2014
Rebranded to Yondu, Inc.
Launched Custom Software Development
EGG was rebranded into Yondu, Inc. In the same year, it launched its newest solution, Custom Software Development.
2015
Xurpas, Inc. invested 51%
Xurpas, Inc invested 51% in the company while Globe retained its 49% stake.
2016
Launched SMS Solution: Mobile360
Forbes Top 2 PH Leading Start-up in terms of revenue
Yondu launched its SMS solution called Mobile360. It was in the same year that the company was awarded as Forbes’ Top 2 Leading Start-up in the Philippines in terms of revenue.
2017
CEO awarded for outstanding entrepreneurship in IT, Internet, and Telecommunication Industry by APEA
In 2017, Yondu President and CEO Joan Penaflorida was recognized by APEA for her invaluable contribution to the IT, Internet, and Telecommunication industry.
2018
Launched Managed Services
Forbes Top 5 PH Leading Start-up in terms of revenue
Yondu launched Managed Services in 2018, and was recognized as Forbes’ Top 5 Leading Start-up in the Philippines in terms of revenue.
2019
Globe Reacquisition 100%
New Yondu branding
Globe welcomed Yondu back to its home after fully acquiring the company in 2019. In the same year, Yondu launched its all-new branding.
2020
Launched Rich Media Messaging
Launched Cloud Services
Launched E-commerce Solution: Vessell
Headcount grew to 900+
While many businesses were challenged at the height of the pandemic, Yondu worked harder to achieve its overarching goals. In 2020, the company launched rich media messaging, cloud services, and its homegrown eCommerce solution. Yondu’s headcount also expanded to over 900, signifying its growth despite the adversity.
